About Me

SirSlotsaLot is the continuation of a hobby and passion that has been part of my life for decades. I’m a 30-year U.S. Army veteran, lifelong automotive and racing enthusiast, and longtime slot-car hobbyist who has always enjoyed building, creating, and working with my hands.

During my Army career, I had the privilege of spending a total of 13 years stationed in Germany over multiple tours. For a 1/24-scale slot-car enthusiast, Germany was an incredible place to be. The hobby there is taken to another level, with talented engineers and craftsmen building phenomenal cars that combine beautifully detailed scale models with sophisticated, high-performance components.

While living in Germany, I learned from some of these experienced builders and adopted many of their techniques and philosophies. I began building cars using premium components and chassis from manufacturers such as Plafit, Schöler, Scaleauto, Motor Modern, and others. That European influence remains at the heart of how I build today, and the vast majority of the components I use are still sourced directly from Germany.

After retiring from the Army, I wanted to devote more time to a lifelong hobby and the creative side of building that I’ve always enjoyed. SirSlotsaLot grew naturally from that passion. Each car is individually built and finished by hand, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, detail, character, and individuality. I’m not interested in mass-producing identical cars. I want to create something different—one-of-a-kind slot cars that capture the personality of the automobiles that inspire them and are just as enjoyable to admire on display as they are to drive on the track.
